Dominic Weilminster is an Architect, Principal and Owner of Points West Design Works. With more than 15 years of professional experience leading design work in Colorado and around the globe, Dominic’s portfolio of work includes Commercial and Institutional work for clients including the City of Denver, University of Colorado, Google, The US Air Force Academy, Denver Metro YMCA, Carmel Partners, AIMCO, and several other private development firms. Prior to founding Points West, Dominic served as the Colorado Practice Leader and US West Design Director for Stantec, an international, multi-disciplinary design firm.
Projects Dominic has worked on have received several citations including AIA Denver, Colorado and Western Mountain Region Design Awards, an IIDA Best Award and the 2013 ISOCARP International Planning Award. In 2015, Dominic was recognized by AIA Colorado as the Emerging Professional of the Year and as a grad student, Dominic was conferred the 2009 Henry Adams Medal - a distinction awarded to the top architecture graduates nationally.
Prior to pursuing architecture, Dominic worked as an education reporter for the Durango Herald and the Rocky Mountain News. His published work has been recognized by the Associated Press Awards, the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards and he is the recipient of the Damon Runyon Award for Feature Writing. Dominic graduated with distinction in 2004 from Colorado State University with a degree in Journalism.
His preferred method of transport is a pair of skis.
